What is GameSetStat?
GameSetStat is an IOS and Apple Watch app that allows you the tennis player to capture professional level stats about you and your opponent using your Apple Watch, as you play.
Do I need to have an Apple Watch?
Yes, point data is captured via the Apple Watch.
How does it work?
After setting up, then starting a new match on your iPhone, launch the GameSetStat app on your Apple Watch and start capturing data about each point that you play. Point data is sent back to your iPhone in real time. View and analyse your pro-level match stats on you iPhone at the end of the match or even at the change of ends!
How do I get started?
Check out the getting started video.
1. Click on the start match button.
2. Create or choose your opponent.
3. Enter your match options and tap PLAY.
4. Select whether you want to capture your opponents service statistics.

3. Choose who’s serving 1st.
What is Capture opponent service stats?
Capture opponent service stats is a setting that allows the user of the apple watch to track their opponents service stats. i.e. Their opponents:
- 1st serve %
- 1st serve points won %
- 2nd serve points won %
If the setting is switched off, the first screen the user is presented with on the Apple Watch in a match that’s in play only has the buttons: Serve in play and Double fault.
If the setting is switched on, then screen allows the user to capture whether it was a 1st serve or 2nd serve.
How do the Apple Watch “In Play” screens work?
The Play input screens on the Apple Watch capture point data regarding:
- The serve – Play screen
- The return – Return screen
- The last shot the user hit – Shot screen
- The result – Result screen
This is the screen where the user captures the result of the serve.
The input here is always based on the perspective of who is serving (the person with the * next to their name on the Apple Watch scoreboard).
This screen describes what happened during the return or whether the serve in play was an Ace or Un-returnable.
It is always from the perspective of the returner (the person without the * next to their name on the Apple Watch scoreboard).
This screen describes the last shot played. This screen is always from the perspective of the User of GameSetStat (the person inputting the data into their Apple Watch).
This screen describes the result (or outcome) of the last shot played. This screen is always from the perspective of the User of GameSetStat (the person inputting the data into their Apple Watch).
How do I undo a point?
Force touch on the Play screen and you’ll be presented with a menu where you can:
- Undo – Undo the last point and return to the Play screen.
- Back – Goes back to the Play screen.
- Suspend – Suspends the match and goes back to the main menu of the Apple Watch app.
What happens to my data when I don’t have a pro subscription?
Nothing. It’s there waiting for you should you ever want to go pro again. If you’d like us to remove your account and all data associated with it, please contact us.
